Samsung Teams Up with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the University of Texas at Austin to Showcase Three Inspiring Students

November 8, 2019

Samsung partners with the Tonight Show to achieve an industry first by filming an episode of late-night TV on a smartphone and equipping three academically successful student leaders with tools for success along the way

Technology is at its best when it helps people do what they can’t — when it inspires, empowers, opens up new opportunities, and lets everyone tell their own story. When creative people get their hands on great devices and let their imagination run wild, magic happens.

That’s what happened last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Earlier this year, we partnered with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to do something that had never been done before — film an episode of late-night TV with a smartphone, the Galaxy S10+.

In that spirit of using technology to defy barriers, we decided to once again join forces with The Tonight Show, this time to do something special at The University of Texas at Austin.

We worked with The University of Texas at Austin to identify three students — all academically successful student leaders — to receive a Galaxy Note10+.

Jimmy surprised the students by announcing that, in addition to getting to keep their phones, each of them would be going home with a Galaxy Holiday Bundle featuring the Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Tab S6, and pair of Galaxy Buds from Samsung.

And then, Jimmy made one more announcement — Samsung would be paying for the remainder of their college tuitions.

Samsung is proud to equip these exceptional undergraduates with the tools they need to take their academic and creative talents to the next level. This partnership is just the latest demonstration of our commitment to helping the future generation fulfill their true potential and work towards a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Samsung empowers future generations to achieve their full potential through education under its citizenship vision “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People”.
