Galaxy Note Hits European Markets

GALAXY Note is combining the market’s largest HD Super AMOLED display, supreme portability and advanced S Pen feature to enhance your creativity and productivity needs

London, United Kingdom – October 27, 2011 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a leading global mobile phone provider, today announced the commercial availability of GALAXY Note in the European market starting from Germany in November. The GALAXY Note will be available with major operators including Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefonica, and Vodafone in Europe.

GALAXY Note features the world’s first and largest 5.3” HD Super AMOLED display. This is an expansive high-resolution smart screen that provides an immersive and best in class viewing experience while ensuring smartphone portability and on the go usability. Additionally, an advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen, combines with GALAXY Note’s full touch screen to introduce a unique user experience. Taking full advantage of the large display, GALAXY Note users will be able to multi-task, create and consume more, with fewer interruptions, while on the go.

The incorporated digital S Pen can be used for accurate sketching and artwork, while superior handwriting recognition allows ideas to be freely captured and shared with other devices without the need to perform any additional digitization; handwritten text is accurately converted into digital characters.

Specially Designed Applications

Together with commercial availability of GALAXY Note, Samsung also announced the launch of ‘S Choice’, a new category menu under the Samsung Apps, with applications specially designed for GALAXY Note’s S Pen feature. New applications offering will include Soonr Workplace, OmniSketch, Zen Brush, ComicBook!, and iAnnotate PDF. Soonr Workplace enables team collaboration by allowing direct annotation on the various file formats stored in the Soonr Cloud and iAnnotate PDF provides a direct annotation mode for S Pen over PDF file. OmniSketch and Zen Brush are very useful tools for free sketch and drawing. OmniSketch enables users to sketch drawings using the S Pen as a brush, while Zen Brush provides oriental brush simulation.

GALAXY Note’s high-resolution display ensures that e-books, PowerPoint presentations, news apps and web-pages can be viewed comfortably with minimal scrolling or zooming. Minimizing the need to switch between applications, GALAXY Note’s HD super AMOLED screen is large enough to allow meaningful split-screen operation and true multi-tasking; the most frequently used native apps can be operated side-by-side, reducing interruptions. Additionally, the 5.3” display is the largest ever included in a primary mobile device; measuring just 9.6mm thick, GALAXY Note fits comfortably in a pocket to offer true portability.

GALAXY Note’s 1.4GHz dual-core processor ensures the device is incredibly fast and a smooth user interface ensures seamless usability.
