Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Worldwide Olympic Partner in the wireless communications equipment category, welcomed former USA Basketball Men’s National Team member, two-time Olympic gold medalist and National Basketball Association (NBA) Legend Gary Payton to the Samsung Galaxy Studio in Olympic Park during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games to surprise fans and test out Samsung’s latest mobile technologies. During his visit, Payton took part in a tour of the Samsung Galaxy Studio, which included a Samsung 4D VR experience that simulated a roller coaster ride; a stop by the social Galaxy room where he saw past Instagram moments come to life in full 360, and interactive Galaxy product demos.

Payton is a two-time Olympic Games gold medalist as a member of the 1996 and 2000 U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Teams. The decorated Olympian is also an NBA Hall-of-Famer, NBA Champion, and nine-time NBA All-Star. Samsung is also an official partner of the NBA and USA Basketball.

“The technology here at the Samsung Galaxy Studio is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before,” said Payton. “It’s cool to see how much Samsung mobile phones and technology in general have evolved since I played in the Olympic Games back in ’96 and 2000. Samsung is really giving fans new and unique ways to experience the Olympic Games. Anyone here in Rio should check it out!”
