In Celebration of International Youth Day Samsung Takes Underprivileged Children from Rio De Janeiro to the Olympic Games

On Friday, August 12th, to celebrate the International Youth Day, Samsung, a global leader in technology and Worldwide Olympic Partner in Wireless Communication Equipment category, invited 30 children who live in different favelas in Rio - in partnership with CUFA (Central Única de Favelas) - to have a unique experience at the world’s biggest sports event, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

On Friday, August 12th, to celebrate the International Youth Day, Samsung, a global leader in technology and Worldwide Olympic Partner in Wireless Communication Equipment category, invited 30 children who live in different favelas in Rio - in partnership with CUFA (Central Única de Favelas) - to have a unique experience at the world’s biggest sports event, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The kids were also hosted and invited to have fun with all the technology of the Samsung Galaxy Studio, located in the Olympic Park.

The children started the day watching the women’s handball match between Brazil and Angola, and enjoyed the excitement of watching a match up-close with all the thrill of being at the Arena of the Future, in Barra da Tijuca. After the match the kids enjoyed a special tour where they experienced the evolution of Samsung's products technology and saw the history of Samsung technology provided the Olympic Games as the Worldwide Olympic Partner for wireless communication equipment. Also, they interacted with the latest technologies offered by Samsung at the Samsung Galaxy Studio.

Based in Rio de Janeiro with national presence, CUFA is a solid organization focused on supporting, entertain, educate and empower children and young people from the Brazilian favelas and is internationally recognized for its mission in the political, social, sporting and cultural.
