Q. Could you tell us about the new Second screen feature on the Galaxy Book Pro series?
Second screen allows users to utilize their Android tablets (Galaxy Tab S7/S7+) as a supporting screen for their Galaxy Book Pro series device.
Many of our users are used to connecting their laptops to an additional monitor for work. In a similar manner, Second screen expands your display onto your Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ through a wireless connection.
Q. What’s the benefit of connecting a Galaxy Book Pro series device and Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ via Second screen?
If you frequently use multiple monitors, you will know that your work experience can become much more efficient with multiple monitors. With the Second screen, we wanted to provide the option of being able to use another screen for multitasking.
As work from home and online classes are becoming more widespread, Second screen enables similar productivity and greater mobility by leveraging Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ as an additional monitor, greatly enhancing productivity anywhere you go.
Q. How will the new Second screen feature benefit users with their Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ and Galaxy Book Pro series devices?
Both Galaxy Book Pro series devices and Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ are very light-weight and easily portable. So users can easily access the Second screen feature anywhere they go via a wireless connection – even in outdoor settings like at a café.
Users are able to connect their devices without a cable. This is made possible by the wireless technology called Wi-Fi Direct, even without additional network connection. When connected to their Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ through the Second screen, users can take notes or doodle on their PC with S Pen even when they don’t support the touch screen or S Pen. For example, when you want to use a program not optimized for tablet usage, you can run the program on your PC and only move it to your Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ when you want to draw something with your S Pen. The ability to use your S Pen is one of the Second screen's key benefits.
Q. Does Second screen provide the same user experience as using multiple monitors?
Users can choose from two different modes via Galaxy Book Pro series settings. Use ‘Duplicate’ mode to cast your Galaxy Book Pro series screen to your Galaxy Tab S7/S7+ to watch a movie or sports game with a friend or review a presentation with a colleague. Maximize your productivity with ‘Extend’ mode which offers more screen real estate for multitasking, allowing you to use one screen to work on a document and another screen to browse the internet.
Q. Any last comment for users?
I can assure you that this is a feature that will captivate a lot of our users by providing an excellent work experience.
[Easy Bluetooth connection]
[Galaxy Book Pro Series Tech Talk] Seamless Connectivity 1 - Easy Bluetooth Connection/https://player.vimeo.com/video/542438356
Q. Why did Samsung develop Easy Bluetooth connection?
We saw that many Galaxy smartphone users also enjoy our full Galaxy ecosystem of connected devices like Galaxy Buds or Galaxy Watch. This is because these devices easily connect to smartphones. We wanted to bring this same easy connectivity to a Windows laptop too.
In fact, this hit home with me one day when my daughter came home and complained about how it was difficult to connect Galaxy Buds with her Windows PC. She tried to connect the two at a train station and the connect window picked up so many bluetooth devices that she wasn’t able to find her own device. We developed this feature based on the idea that Windows users could also easily use Galaxy Buds if we made an improvement to this aspect.
Q. Can you tell me more about Easy Bluetooth connection?
The feature is the same process you experience when connecting your Galaxy Buds to a Galaxy smartphone. When you connect your Galaxy Buds to your Galaxy smartphone, you only need to open the Buds case, which pulls up the connection screen on your smartphone. Easy Bluetooth connection brings this functionality to the Galaxy Book Pro series.
These Galaxy Buds are currently connected to this smartphone. If you open up the case close to a Galaxy Book Pro series device, you will see the pop-up window. Click the ‘Connect’ button to easily connect your Buds which were previously connected to your smartphone. How easy is that? And, you can also check the battery of your Buds on the Galaxy Book Pro series to ensure your Galaxy Buds are powered up.
Q. How has the Easy Bluetooth connection made connecting wireless earphones easier?
Typically, there are several steps to connecting a bluetooth device to Windows. You need to click on the Start menu, open the Windows Settings, click on the Find Devices menu and select the device you are looking for. You need to click on at least five buttons along the process, and some people don’t even know where to find the menu. With the new feature, you can forego this process and connect with just one click.
Q. Any last thought?
Connecting Galaxy Buds with just one click makes it so convenient. We really hope you try it out and find it as convenient as we do.
[Galaxy Book Pro Series Tech Talk] Seamless Connectivity 1 - Quick Share/https://player.vimeo.com/video/542440020
The Quick Share feature allows the sharing of photos, videos and files between Samsung Galaxy devices.
Q. What is Quick Share technology?
Quick Share is a short-distance file sharing service for Galaxy devices that we developed in order to make the file sharing experience easier and more convenient.
With online classes and remote work becoming more common, users increasingly need to transfer files from their phone to their PC, or vice versa. This is why we launched Quick Share for the Galaxy Book Pro series.
Q. When and where would Quick Share be especially useful?
Quick Share makes the file sharing experience easier by eliminating the need to connect devices via the internet or physically with a cable. Instead, you can share files directly from device to device.
Usually in outdoor environments or when you are not carrying a cable, file sharing from Phone to PC is done through email or social media. But this isn’t always efficient or even possible if there is no public Wi-Fi. With Quick Share, you can directly transfer files from Phone to PC, or PC to Phone in outdoor environments even without internet with Wi-Fi Direct technology.
Q. What kind of files can you transfer with Quick Share?
There is no limit to the type of files that can be transferred via Quick Share. The easiest way to check is to look for the ‘My Files’ folder on your phone. All your visible files here can be transferred.
Q. What is the technology that makes Quick Share possible?
Let me explain how Quick Share works in general. The Bluetooth Low Energy, also known as BLE, that is built into modern phones, tablets and PCs searches for nearby devices. When a user selects one of the devices from the list of search results, a file can be sent directly to that device through Wi-Fi Direct. This means the devices are connected locally and are able to send a file without an internet connection, which is a huge advantage.
Here, Wi-Fi indicates the Wi-Fi Direct connection between devices, rather than the more frequently seen Wi-Fi connection that allows us to access the internet in public places. Any device with Quick Share will automatically switch on, so the user can choose to receive files when they receive a request from the sender.
Q. Can I block my phone from getting files from strangers?
On the main screen of Quick Share, the top menu shows two options: ‘Everyone’ and ‘Contacts only.’ If you select ‘Everyone’, your device will be seen by all users who search for nearby devices. ‘Contacts only’ operates based on your Samsung account information and is only seen by previously saved contacts. Anyone who is not saved in your contacts list will not be able to search for your device.
Q. Is there anything else users should know about Quick Share?
No more cables! Use Quick Share for sharing files! We strongly recommend you use the Quick Share feature.

[Galaxy Book Pro Series Tech Talk] Seamless Connectivity 1 - Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone/https://player.vimeo.com/video/542441289
Q. What exactly is Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone?
Link to Windows is a term used to describe a smartphone feature. For Galaxy Book Pro series, we use the term “Your Phone”. With Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone, you can connect your smartphone with a Galaxy Book Pro series device and continuously use smartphone features on your laptop on a single screen.
Q. What features does Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone provide?
A Galaxy Book Pro series device and a smartphone connected via Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone enables cross-functionality between the devices.
For instance, you can receive calls/messages and check smartphone notifications on the display of a paired Galaxy Book Pro series device. In addition, you can transfer important files saved on your phone to your Galaxy Book Pro series device without having to rely on email or a USB device. Upon finishing the task, you can transfer the file back onto your phone.
In addition, you can use the “Open Phone Screen” menu to mirror your smartphone’s screen to your Galaxy Book Pro series device. And you can also open up to five multiple windows simultaneously.
Q. What are some real-world use case examples for Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone?
Some of you may let your children borrow your phone to watch videos. Using Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone, you no longer have to take it back to check or reply to messages. You can simply run on your Galaxy Book Pro series and respond to messages.
Many users also often use screen mirroring to work on Word documents on Galaxy Book Pro series device and transfer the file back to their smartphones. You can use the Drag and Drop feature to move the file from your smartphone to your Galaxy Book Pro series and then save it back to your smartphone quickly and easily, anytime, anywhere. As a result, your smartphone always has the latest Word document for reference.
Q. What is convenient about using Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone?
Many of you have likely had to unplug your smartphone from the charger to check something on your phone, even though the device is not charged yet. With Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone, you can access your smartphone’s features on your Galaxy Book Pro series while the mobile device continues to charge. When your smartphone is not with you, you can still receive notifications and open saved data using your Galaxy Book Pro series device.
Q. How do I connect to Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone?
If logging into your Microsoft account on your Galaxy Book Pro series device, you can activate your smartphone’s Link to Windows icon and go through a QR Code identification to connect the devices.
Even after you reboot the Galaxy Book, it automatically reconnects without hassles. If you want to disable the automatic connection, just open Quick Panel and deactivate the Link to Windows / Microsoft Your Phone feature, which does not let your Galaxy Book Pro series connect to your smartphone.
