Samsung Electronics Adds A New Brand Marketing Expert, Pio Schunker To Global Mobile Marketing

Former Coca-Cola marketing executive to help advance the company’s global marketing initiatives

SEOUL, KOREA – March 31, 2015 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, announced today the appointment of Pio Schunker as the new Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing Communications IT & Mobile Division. Schunker will join the team to lead brand and product campaign development, digital/social efforts, experiential and sports marketing as well as retail experience. He will report directly to Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Marketing at Samsung.
With more than 25 years of marketing experience creating seamless and breakthrough marketing campaigns for some of the world’s most iconic brands from Mercedes-Benz, American Express to Coca-Cola, Schunker will leverage his expertise to bolster Samsung’s brand and product marketing efforts by executing holistic campaigns for the global mobile market.

“Mr. Schunker’s deep experience will help further propel Samsung’s brand presence across our mobile product portfolio,” said Mrs. Lee. “His experience and expertise will bring a unique, fresh perspective to our team and strengthen our marketing initiatives around the world.”

Schunker previously served as one of Coca-Cola's top North America marketing executives. His marketing and creative efforts there helped contribute to the Coca-Cola Company winning the Inaugural Clio for Icon Brand of the Year, the Inaugural Grand Prix at Cannes for Design, Cannes Marketer of the Year and its first ever Emmy Award win. He was responsible for creating iconic marketing campaigns across all platforms, including Advertising, Branded Entertainment, Digital/Social, Retail and Loyalty Programs at Coca-Cola.
